Card Challenge at LRS
Little Red Scrapbook Monthly Card Challenge: Sewing butterflies
I absolutely adore the oodles of butterflies on the Huckleberry Hill paper in his month's kit. I love fussy cutting, but I just could not bring myself to cutting out all those lovely butterflies. Instead, I used a Martha Stewart butterfly punch which fit inside the printed butterflies perfectly! Arranging the butterflies in a grid pattern and sewing down through the centers reminds me of the butterfly specimen examples from science class. This is a great way to add dimension to your projects. Try it out! Upload your completed project in the LRS gallery and link back to the challenge thread. I can't wait to see what you do!

Important Announcement About Copic Classes
It has been nearly three years since Sue introduced me to Copic markers and I started teaching classes at Pizazz It! Scrapbooks. Since then, we've moved our little group to Hobby Lobby
and continued classes there. You ladies are such a joy to be around
and I have thoroughly enjoyed researching and learning different
techniques to bring you each month. Lately, however, I'm finding the
creative juices are drying up and my heart is just not into teaching any
more. The class is ready for a fresh face and
fresh ideas. I am THRILLED to announce that Charmaine Blue will begin
taking over teaching Copic classes at Hobby Lobby in August. She is
amazingly talented and really has a passion for Copic markers. I'm
excited for the group to learn new techniques and fresh ideas. I'm
excited for Charmaine because I know teaching has been something she has
been thinking about doing. And I'm excited for me to continue to
participate in the class with you wonderful ladies as a student!
The
transition to a new instructor should be pretty smooth. Charmaine
plans to keep things the same for now, but I'm sure changes will be made
down the road as she sees ways to improve upon the process. If there
are any changes you would like to see made, please don't hesitate to let
Charmaine know. She is also very interested knowing what techniques
and stamp images you would like to see in
future classes. Charmaine's email address is cqblue@att.net

Introducing ScrapKids!!
ScrapScription is proud to introduce a series of four 2012 ScrapKids albums! Our new ScrapKids kits take their lead from the best of what ScrapScription
has offered in the past and turn it into a kit especially for kids!
We've simplified our design with fewer cuts, bright papers, and geared
the kits toward tweens, teens, beginners, and even the young at
heart. You'll love our kid friendly designs as well as our kid friendly
low price. Future kits will include teen friendly themes such as
friends, school and Christmas. However, we couldn't think of a better
way to showcase our first album for kids than to start off with a bright
and cheerful summer themed kit!
THE SWEET LIFE - 6" X 6" CHIPBOARD SCALLOPED TAB ALBUM - To kick off our ScrapKids series, we started with a Maya Road 6" x 6" chipboard album as the base and headed over to one of our favorite designers, Jill at Jillibean Soup, to add some summer themed papers and embellishments from her Watermelon Gazpacho Soup line. Then we threw in some Doodlebug Designs cards and envelopes, added those tags and pull out pages ScrapScription is known for and voila - The Sweet Life was born! What better way to spend time with that special young person in your life, scrapping the day away, and creating that extra special keepsake that he or she can proudly say, "Look, I made it myself!" As always we are including step-by-step colored directions, so get your The Sweet Life album today!

Stamping on Modeling Clay
Kaiser Kraft had a great idea in their monthly newsletter about stamping and inking on modeling clay. It would be another great way to use stamps, however, I am not able to Pin It to Pinterest because it is in PDF form. Soooooo, I'm shamelessly copying it to my blog so I can Pin It so I won't forget.
...aaaaand the second photo is wonky. Doh!
