ScrapScription "Our Wedding" Kit

My sister requested I make her a wedding scrapbook for Christmas this year.  Aye yi yi!  As you scrappers know, this is a huge project but I really wanted to do it for her.  Ironically, ScrapScription had just re-released their Our Wedding album kit so I ordered it.  Holy smokes!  What an amazing kit!!!  This kit features Teresa Collins Mr. & Mrs. collection.  It comes with an 8 1/2 x 11 leather 3 ring binder which has plenty of room to add additional pages.  The kit is very elegant with a black and white color scheme.  Because the kit is very neutral, it will work for any wedding.  My sister's wedding was purple, so I plan to add purple embellishments and accents.  The cost of this kit is $60 but worth every single penny based on the size and amount of product you receive.

I was so impressed with the kit that I made a video to show you all the details.  Enjoy!

Little Red Scrapbook Sneak Peeks

The September Little Red Scrapbook kit features Pink Paislee's Nantucket collection.  At first glance I thought this kit was going to be very pink, however, there are some really wonderful teal greens, blues and oranges.  I felt it was a very versatile kit.

Here are some sneak peeks of the projects I made:

School Days, school days. Good old golden rule days!

ScrapScription is pleased to bring you two wonderful mini albums to celebrate school.

BACK 2 SCHOOL – 8.5" X 11" FILE FOLDER ALBUM – The school bell will be ringing soon for the start of another year of higher education. We here at ScrapScription always cringe a little ourselves at the looming new school year as our own Candy goes back to work as a Special Ed teacher in her local school district, but this year we've planned ahead and prepared the newest kit release in anticipation of getting your school year off to an A+ start! BACK 2 SCHOOL features a unique album constructed from 8.5" x 11" office file folders! You are going to love all the room you are going to have to add all those important moments of your student's life including – their first day of school, their teacher, their schedule, their class and even more! Simple Stories' brings us a bright but shabby, distressed feel in their Elementary Collection. The familiar school icons are all present and accounted for in the matching stickers, journaling cards, and other elements. Get started now on your child's school album and see how easy it is to add your own extra pages to the fun black rubber rings. Hurry up – attendance is being taken and you are going to want to make sure you're there to get your kit today!

THE HIGH SCHOOL YEARS – 9" X 9" CHIPBOARD BINDER ALBUM – Does the thought of documenting your teen's high school years into one album scare you? Are you afraid their "high school" album won't be completed before their senior graduation party? Trying to get ahead of the game and finish an album that you can give as a graduation present? Then ScrapScription's The High School Years kit is perfect for you! We've taken the perfect 9" x 9" binder album from Bo Bunny and paired it with Bella Blvd's fab Midterm papers and embellishments. The format is simple – a tabbed chipboard page separates each year – freshman, sophomore, junior, and senior. Then a special tabbed section for pictures and a final tabbed section just for graduation. In between are cool Kraft file folders that will give you space for more photos. Large index cards also provide tons of space for journaling. Wait until you see the special "zipper trimmed" pages that this album features – way cool! Large printed icons add to the fun feel of this album – tennis shoes, laptop computer, cell phone and pizza pie! With three alphabets in this kit, there are plenty of stickers to customize your album. And with the binder rings inside, there is tons of room to add additional pages. Don't wait – order yours now and avoid the rush! And have a gorgeous, fun album to show off to all your friends and family at your grad's big party!

Craft It Forward - Bookmarks

I have really enjoyed participating in the Craft It Forward program hosted by Scrapbook, Etc.  This month's project is bookmarks.  I found these cute monster corner bookmarks here so I decided to make several.  It is a great way to use up those scraps (and we all know how I like to do that!).  I plan to make some girly ones with big eyelashes and red pouty lips.  These bookmarks will be collected by Columbus Scrappers and donated to Columbus Metro Book Mobile for at-risk kids.  Thanks to Lynne Fogel from Columbus Scrappers for coordinating this great community service project.

Super 8 Movie

We took the boys to see this movie last night and we all enjoyed it!  It has great action, lots of suspense and an intriguing story line.  The show is set in the late 1970's.  I love the kind of innocence and coming of age situations the kids had back then.  Didn't life seem so much simpler??  But why oh why, J.J. Abrams, must you have children curse and drop the f-bomb?  It is so unnecessary....

ScrapScription - Summertime Reflection Kit

The temperature reads HOT and it’s time to take a break from the summer heat and reflect on all the good things this time of year brings to you and your family. The bright colors from Little Yellow Bicycle’s Sweet Summertime collection are a great starting off point for this one of a kind mixed album.

Copic classes delayed just a wee bit

I'm thrilled so many of you are interested in continuing your Copic marker skills.  I just wanted to touch base with you to let everyone know I haven't dropped the ball or forgotten about you.  I was hoping to have a class in July, however, my little dude was at Children's Hospital.  He has kidney stones in both kidneys and had to have surgery.

Doesn't this just break your heart?

He is doing well but needs to go back next week for an out patient procedure and then have another follow up surgery after that.

I have an awesome technique in mind for our first class, but haven't planned for markers yet.  Here is a 50% off coupon for Michael's for today only and a 40% off coupon for the next week.  You might want to take advantage of it and pick up a marker or two you've had your eye on.  Michael's offers 60 Copic colors for $6.99.  Here is a link to the 60 colors Michael's carries.

Hobby Lobby also has a 40% off coupon good through July 9th.  HL offers 144 Copic colors for $6.49.  They are located by the custom framing counter and are kept in a back room.  You need to ask an employee to see them and must know the secret hand shake before being admitted into the sanctum.  (JK about the hand shake!).  Here is a link to the 144 colors HL carries.

Enjoy the coupons, happy shopping and I'll be in touch very shortly!
